History
Alexia Foods was created because the founder, Alex (who was a chef in Manhattan), wanted to offer consumers side dishes that tasted just as good and had the same excellent standards as main entrées. As a chef, Alex already had vast experience in creating excellent tasting food and so he set out to create his own distinctive side dishes.
In creating his side dishes, Alex hand-selected the finest ingredients that he could find. He then created his products in small batches in order to make sure that every single side dish was made with the same care, time and effort and therefore the side dishes’ quality would not be compromised. He then introduced his finished products to the market, and labeled them Alexia.
Because Alexia side dishes were created in small batches, it soon developed a reputation of being hard-to-find favorites. The side dishes are also popular for being gourmet-inspired, all natural, and definitely delicious. Most of Alexia’s potato products are free from gluten, except for its potato bites. Alexia’s breads, food service goods, mashed potatoes, and appetizers are non-Kosher while most of its potato products are Kosher. Alexia also has organic products that are certified by Oregon Tilth.
In November of 2009, Alexia’s Mozzarella Stix were recognized as the Best Cheese Stick by Rachael Ray on her show “Everyday with Rachael Ray.” In October of 2010, Alexia Foods added line of fall flavors to its Sweet Potato Fries. In November of the same year, Alexia started a social network promotion on reinventing classic American side dishes. In February of 2011, Alexia teamed up with chef Tyler Florence in order to create more extraordinary meals that consumers can eat everyday.
Today, Alexia Foods offer consumers with a variety of gourmet foods that include easy appetizers, artisan breads, oven-baked French fries, sweet potatoes and potatoes, and vegetable side dishes. Examples of Alexia products include Cheddar Bites, Mushroom Bites, Mozzarella Stix, Ciabatta, Focaccia, biscuits, classic Oven Crinkles, and Waffle Fries. Alexia Foods is available in the freezer section of grocery stores in different parts of the country.
