The Louisiana Sweet Potato Commission (LSPC) has launched a statewide advertising plan that will promote sweet potatoes across Louisiana. The tuber season is here and LSPC is using delivery trucks in its advertising to get to its target audience.
The commission’s past advertising efforts relied on conventional media and traditional billboards. The commission has revamped its ads with mobile advertisements that are a more dynamic and innovative way of communication. The new mode of advertisement is aimed at boosting awareness of its brand. The local delivery truck means of advertising that they will be using will combine point of sale advertising with powerful visual means of the billboards. The Louisiana Sweet Potato Commission says that this advertising will be a more effective way of reaching possible customers, especially in their daily schedules. The commission will be taking to the streets to promote the consumption of their colorful tubers during these mobile advertising campaigns.
The campaign will run from this November to March as delivery trucks make their rounds to grocery locations. Stores in areas of Baton Rouge, Alexandria, Lake Charles, Monroe, New Orleans, Shreveport and Lafayette will benefit from the deliveries. The delivery trucks will be making deliveries at the grocery stores’ fronts, as opposed to the usual rear loading docks to ensure point of purchase visibility.
The trucks contain the Louisiana Sweet Potatoes Commission logo as well as the tagline “Be loyal, Buy Local.” The trucks will also carry the company’s products and encourage customers to visit their website for more helpings of recipes with sweet potatoes.
