Bottling of Maple Syrup should be done at about 190 degrees. You want to temperature of the syrup to be at least 185 degrees at the moment that you screw the cap on the bottle. Any candy thermometer should suffice. This will ensure that your bottling will be successful without spoiled product. Jugs can be washed and re-used, but caps are 1-time use.
