TLC’s ‘Extreme Couponing’ has raised issues regarding the excessive use of coupons to save large amounts of cash. Several online communities have also made the show a popular topic, both in the positive and negative sense.
The issue of hoarding has been raised by consumers who have watched the show. As the show features expert couponers who amass a large quantity of grocery goods and add it to their stockpile (and paying only a small amount of money for it), some viewers of the show could not help but think that what is being done is actually hoarding.
There have also been incidents where the show featured extreme couponers who were seen to have misused coupons and still got away with it, creating negative feedback from those who watched the show. Some feedback even indicated that couponing fraud has been committed on the show.
The show has defended its side however, saying that the coupon misuse was just honest mistakes and were not intentional and that it does not aim to promote couponing fraud. As to the issue of hoarding, some expert couponers who have been featured on the show have said that the stockpiles that they have accumulated do not go to waste because a large part of it goes to charity and helping the community. While others may think that extreme couponers are obsessed with saving, a large part of its viewers also think that these people who save a lot by using coupons are smart shoppers who know how to make the most of what they have.
Keisha, check out some of the Websites for couponing. They will help you.
As far as this horrible show goes. I would not waste one more minute of my life watching such bull. The show knows about the fraud. They don't care. They only care about ratings. The show makes it look so easy. $0 out of pocket and save tons. That's all a lie. And any good couponer knows this.
RIP TLC
just wanted to know were do you get your coupons and how do I go about doing so
