History
Baker’s Supermarkets was founded in 1927 by Abe Baker. The first store was opened in Walnut, Iowa, which was a small grocery store. The second store was opened in Bellevue, near Omaha, Nebraska, in 1957. In 1957, two stores were opened in Omaha. After that, his two sons took over responsibility of the supermarket chains. Later the company’s profit started declining and in 1992, the supermarket chain was sold to food wholesaler, Fleming Companies. Again, the company started facing serious financial problems and in 2001, Kroger bought the company as part of expanding their business. In 2004, Kroger also bought three Albertson’s grocery stores in Omaha and merged them with Baker’s Supermarkets. From then on, Baker’s Supermarkets has continued offered retail services to the people of Omaha.

I am requesting a product your sister stores “King Sooper’s in Denver carry. The product if Bueno Flame Roasted Chopped Green Chile. This product comes frozen and has a shelf life for many years. It is sold in 13oz tubs and is good for salsa, green Chile sauce, for chile concarne and other dishes. Produce comes in extra hot, hot and mild varieties and would be a great addition to your ethnic foods.

I’ve been a Bakers customer for many years throughout all the changes and improvements that keep me coming back to the Twin Creek location in Nebraska. When shopping for groceries or libations I can always count on your staff to help answer any questions or concerns I might have about your sales or porducts. I can’t say how impressed and thankful I am that you employ such a nice and extremely knowledgeable person such as Tanya in your liquor department . Today Tanya was busy as usual with vendors and stocking but stopped everything to help me. As I walked away she was already helping another customer. I guess everyone is special to Tanya. I shop at other store liquor departments and talk about beer and scotch with strangers, it’s funny mention Tanyas name and she has helped many of them too . Thanks again for having a dedicated ,helpful and kind person named Tanya on you r team.
