This setup is not yet in existence. The prototype of this project was presented by a group of researchers last year at the Nordic Exceptional Trendshop conference. This was a futuristic exhibition and conference in Denmark. The project was dubbed ‘Agropolis’ and was aimed at solving the problem of finding fresh farm produce in most grocery stores. This is a prevalent problem in America, especially in the summer where even during the peak summer months, most of the big grocery stores disappoint by not stocking enough fresh produce.
The low quality of produce in most of the grocery stores is usually caused by a number of factors. The biggest of these is the adverse weather conditions experienced during the growing season. Some produce are picked before they fully mature. There is also poor handling and storage of the produce. All these problems will be solved with the full adoption and implementation of this project.
