Level Up: Groupon’s New Competition?

Level Up is a new online site that might be giving Groupon some tight competition in the future.

Undeniably, Groupons have been providing consumers with ways to save through the great deals that it offers. However, there have been some complaints from merchants that have been collaborating with Groupons. According to some merchants, customers who availed of Groupon’s deals rarely go back for a second time or a third.

This new site Level Up however, has a way of answering this concern from the merchants. Level Up does not offer customers one-time deals. What they do offer are a series of three deals, each deal being better than the previous one. This is Level Up’s way of ensuring that the customers become familiar with the merchant’s products and services. Once a customer gets used to going back a number of times to a particular store, there would be a higher possibility of that customer becoming a regular patron of that particular business.

Although this sounds like a very good idea from Level Up, it is still unsure whether customers will be willing to pay for this kind of promotion. It would also be a little early to say whether Level Up can compete with Groupon. What will remain to be a fact is that Groupon already has millions of people subscribing to the site who receive coupons and are updated by the newest deals that Groupon offers. This alone is difficult enough for any beginner daily-deals site like Level Up to achieve.

Currently, Level Up has about a hundred thousand subscribers. This figure seems really small when compared to Groupon’s numbers. However, only time will tell whether Level Up’s subscribers will increase or if it will be the other way around.
