What is Kroger Co.?
Kroger Co. is one of America’s largest grocery retailers, with 2,419 stores spanning from Michigan across the U.S to Alaska. In addition to the grocery stores, Kroger also has multi-department stores, warehouses, convenience stores, and fine jewelry shops. Listed as Forbes Magazine’s “Most Generous Company in America,” Kroger is known for their charitable giving operations. Kroger grocery retailers work under 15 different banners, among them Ralphs, Dillons and City Market. Operating in supermarket format, Kroger grocery is large enough to also provide specialty departments such as pet centers, fresh seafood, and pharmacies.
Working at Kroger
Kroger Co. offers a huge range of positions for employment across each of their departments. As with most grocery retail positions, the work is generally fast-paced and very customer service oriented. There is limited information on benefits for Kroger employees, but it is a union job for full-time positions. Compensation begins at minimum wage, and it seems that there is not much room for advancement or pay increase, in addition to long, not flexible hours with short and limited breaks. One of the benefits of working at Kroger is the employee discount package, which allows employees to shop at very low prices in the stores. The best positions in terms of compensation, hours and flexibility, as surveyed by reviews, is in the pharmacy, although once again, the work is very busy and there are limited breaks. The website does not provide sufficient detail about employee benefits or compensation. Overall, as per employee surveys, Kroger is a good place to work in terms of customers and co-workers, however management is not so good and compensation and breaks are low and limited.

There are many positions in the grocery department as store clerks, bakers, meats and produce, and management. Aside from these positions, there are options in administration such as marketing, research, media and finance. The pharmacies offer positions for technicians and pharmacies as like, as well as stocking and healthcare. Customer service and support are positions that can be found in any of the Kroger departments and banners. Most of these positions offer part and full-time employment.

I’m thinking I won’t shop Kroger’s anymore due to your new gun regulation about open carry. Do you really think a crackhead with ill intent gives a crap about your regulation. I think you’ve made a bad decision as I feel safer knowing someone could have the ability to stop the crackhead with I’ll intent while I’m shopping. I feel you just made you stores more vulnerable to dangerous crackheads with ill intent!
My name is Charlotte I been trying for two month to put an application in for the new Kroger on 18 mile road & Dequindre. I’ve call the store across the street and I also stop in the store. I Keep hearing go to kroger.com or Kroger.com/career go to the bottom of the page and click on career. So far that is not helping. The first one is a tomatoe based sauce the other is a Mustard Based Sauce which both
are unbelievable good.But for some reason the mustard sauce has been doind extremely better than ketchump.Which needless too say that their is few of those sauces on the shelve.Would like too look into your food stores rather than the Gaints.Right

I am trying to do an online application and I can not get on the right site to even put in an application. All I get are annoying recruiters trying to get me to go back to school. It should not be this difficult and frustrating to put in an application!
I agree with Julie. Cannot find the right application. My local Kroger even put a job flyer in my bag today. It said to apply at Kroger.com/careers. No luck.

Me,my fiancée and his family are a regular customer at Kroger.In fact we had a card from them,we used it everytime we go to Kroger for grocery;and buy medicine.Kroger is a very nice store for us,it has a good reputation;well organized;clean and most especially the employees are very easy to approached.Fast and friendly employees.I loved to work this store also because it was closer to our house were we leave.Short distance and we can easily come over if we are out of items,like foods and other items needed.Ever since I’ve been wishing to work on this store,but never hired yet.I hope at this time Kroger management would let me work and make me as one of their people who work hard not for only their store,but for helping the customer on their daily needs in the store.Thank you and may God bless you Kroger emplyees! and the management as well.
