Ralphs is a major supermarket chain in Southern California, America. They sell an array of products including, meat, fish, vegetables and baked goods with the larger stores offering pharmacy products, gifts and gas facilities outside.
History
Originally Ralphs was a family owned grocery store started by an unemployed bricklayer and his brother, who ran the store under the name “Ralph’s Bros. Grocers” from 1873 until 1909 when the name changed to Ralph’s Grocery Company. The first Ralph’s Grocery was opened in 1911 with an additional hundred stores being opened across Southern California over the next 40 years.
The company was sold to Federated in 1968 for $60 million and was one of the first stores to get laser price scanners at the checkout points. In the 1980s, the company took a turn for the worst and only just escaped bankruptcy and spent the following decade merging with other companies in order to expand. They merged with Food-4-Less in 1994 and only 4 years later merged again with Fred Meyer Inc., which is a division of The Kroger Company umbrella.
Their current mission statement is that the customer should receive the very best, whether this is the best customer service, best quality or best price. They also share the Kroger Company motto, which is “Fresh Food…Lower Prices” aiming their products at the value shopper demographic. They have also helped the most in need in the community by donating millions to causes and charities; including relief for hurricane victims, abused women and drug prevention programs. This has given the company an edge that not many other companies have and that is a degree of humanitarianism, as well as finical stability.

I just left Ralphs in Torrance Ca. I had been looking for trout at my local VONS for three weeks. They just didn’t have it. The guy at the front desk (I wish I could remember his name) called the meat dept. to save me the trip back. Eddie said they had it, and hooked me up good!
In the past few weeks the Ralph’s weekly ads have not been delivered on Tuesday. I always like to review the specials along with my weekly needs towrite my list. Because I do not receive this weekly ad I go to the markets that do. I have tried looking up thw weekly specials on line and they are not up up and running. Why?
A few weeks ago I bought Veroni Salami at your Redondo Beach Store. I cannot find it any more. Where can I get it?
Since the Whittier Quad store closed, I go to the Colima store. Since the 4th of July that I needed a few things I hadn’t noticed that this store has no baggers! The checkers bag the groceries, which slows up the lines considerably! That day the manager opened up, I asked him where are the baggers, he said they were bringing in carts, when I left no one was outside! Yesterday I was in a hurry, I go to the shortest line & an elderly lady was asking a lot of questions & after all that the checker still had to bag her groceries!
I go to the hadley store when I’m coming from the west, however in the evening it isn’t well lit & the clientele is questionable at times!
Very disappointment with the prepared Thanksgiving Express dinner. Nowhere did any ad or even the receipt for the dinner indicate that the turkey would be FROZEN, however, it did say COLD. Therefore, my dinner was not nearly ready at the time I had planned. Had I known it would be frozen I could have picked it up much earlier. Near disaster Thanksgiving dinner and very disappointed that my guests had to wait much longer for dinner than I had planned.
Hello, Today I bought some sushi at the sushi station @ 1500 N. Moorpark Rd. In Thousand Oaks, CA. We had a pot luck luncheon so I decided to bring the sushi. I got so many compliments from the other people and they asked me where I bought the sushi. I bought the Tuna roll and the Salmon rolls. Keep up the good work!
