In Florida, two expert couponers who call themselves the ‘Coupon Divaz’ spend most of their time helping grocery shoppers find the best bargains in stores.
Stacey Wilson and Kris Barnett of West Palm Beach usually hand out grocery coupons while waiting in line at the grocery store to try to help other customers cut grocery bills. The divaz said they get excited every time they find an opportunity to help other customers, and the cashiers get excited for them, too.
The women said that every time they shop using dozens of their grocery coupons, they always find hidden treasures. Barnett has even said that grocery shopping with coupons feels like a scavenger hunt.
The duo said that originally, what they did was store the coupons in envelopes and bring them to the store. While at the grocery store, they try to go through the envelopes to check which of the items are currently on sale. Their previous strategy, however, proved to be overwhelming and did not allow them to maximize their couponing power because there were instances when they would forget which envelopes were checked and which were not.
The women soon came up with a better strategy, one that mainly focused on organizing their coupons in a binder. Since then, the coupon divaz have been maximizing the use of coupons for their grocery shopping.
Currently, the two women are helping others save up to 70 percent of their grocery bills, as well as help them get items for free. The duo also host shows which talk about saving money, which is a timely topic especially with the current economy status.
