Hy-Vee-Logo-BannerHy-Vee’s Fuel Saver program will see both private and national brands play a key role.

The Fuel Saver program, which is a partnership between the retailer and Casey’s General Stores, seeks to tie gasoline discounts to particular grocery purchases. Shoppers at these stores can get a total discount of $2.08/gallon for this week when they buy the participating products.

This week the Hy-Vee brand products tied to the ad of the Fuel Saver program include Chinese Express dinner for 4, which retails for $19.99 and will translate to fuel savings of 20 cents and Hamburger rolls, which retail for  $1.29 and will translate to fuel savings of 2 cents. Folger’s coffee, sold at $8.99 translates to fuel savings of 5 cents.

The new discounts will be tied to grocery items that will be featured in Hy-Vee’s weekly advertisement of Fuel Saver and will range from two to twenty-five cents for each item purchased. These discounts will then be loaded on a shoppers Fuel Saver card, which can be scanned at a Casey’s or Hy-Vee store’s fuel pumps and the price will be reduced. The discounts each week can add to more than $2 per gallon depending on the number of items bought by a customer that week. The retail cost of gasoline will be going down for customers taking advantage of this holiday fuel saving program. Customers need to watch out for the Fuel saver ads.
