Rudolph Foods Co., based in Lima, Ohio, has initiated the Second Annual Pork Rind Appreciation Day drive, supporting the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund. The nonprofit organization provides financial and medical assistance to those NFL players who need help.
For each branded product of Rudolph Foods purchased, 10 cents will go to the fund until February 3 next year, which is the biggest day in the year for the NFL, with a maximum of $10,000.
The company encouraged lovers of their products to support their campaign by joining Twitter chats through #PorkRindDay. There, they will learn more about the nonprofit organization, the Gridiron Greats Assistance fund, check out their brand’s website and view videos showing the hall of famers. Customers also have a chance to enter and win a ‘Big Game party,’ that comes complete with a personalized video from one of the Gridiron Greats football legends, a new 50” plasma TV, pork rinds and sandwiches.
The pork rind manufacturer said that they are proud to be in the forefront of supporting the Gridiron Greats, and they will lead football loving families to do the same. The company further said that since the legends had provided them with entertainment and memories for decades, then the campaign was right to give them support when they need it. The 2011 campaign got many votes nationwide with $10,000 donated for Wounded Warriors Family Support group.
Rudolph Foods is one of largest suppliers in the world of private-label and branded snack products, with plants in California, Texas, Georgia and Ohio. In 2010, Rudolph Foods received the Energy Saver title.
