The company was established in 1827 by the Buitoni family. It was eventually sold to Carlo De Benedetti in 1985, and it was then ultimately purchased by Nestlé in 1988. Nestle has maintained the company headquarters in Sansepolcro, Italy, and refurbished one of the Buitoni family homes. Today, Casa Buitoni holds a superior working test kitchen and is the center of product development. It also serves as a demonstration workshop and communications center. Located in the hills of Tuscany, Casa Buitoni is set amid gardens filled with tomatoes, vegetables, olives, wheat and herbs that offer the perfect fresh ingredients for creating new pasta dishes.
