Minnesota-based Hormel Foods has launched another addition to its line of breakfast meats. Hormel Breakfast Canadian Bacon is now an added option to American breakfasts.
This new meat product, Canadian bacon, is a healthier option that consumers can use in their meals and in different meat dishes. This bacon has a lower sodium content, is fully cooked, and is made with natural juices. This Canadian bacon is also 97% fat-free, as well as gluten-free. Because the product is sliced more thinly, three pieces of this bacon is only 70 calories.
Besides the delicious taste of this Canadian bacon, there are a number of choices you can make with the product. The thinner slices are perfect for making breakfast sandwiches. It can also be cut into pieces, for use in salads or frittatas. This product can also be used to make a classy version of a BLT (bacon-lettuce-tomato) sandwich. It can also be used as topping for homemade pizza, or even for eggs Benedict. This bacon can be pan-fried for a minute, or put in the microwave oven for 15 seconds tops. These are just some of the ways that this new product can be enjoyed.
According to Asst. Product Manager Alex Elliot, most bacon formulations currently are “water-added.” This makes Hormel Food’s bacon different because this new product uses only natural juices, which makes it a premium offering. One of the company’s goals in introducing this product to the market is to increase the use of Canadian bacon in different dishes, as well as at different mealtimes.
Hormel Breakfast Canadian Bacon is now available in different retail stores for $3.99 (for a 6-oz pack) and $7.99 (for a 12-oz pack).
