One Degree Organics is offering its consumers the opportunity to learn the story behind every ingredient in its products. Consumers can use their smartphones to scan QR codes located on the products packaging, which will take them to not only a list of ingredients but information on where the ingredients were sourced. This information can also be accessed on the company’s website by entering a product code.
The company, which makes sprouted breads, flours, and seeds, recently introduced a line of breads which contain the QR code on the packaging and are available at select grocery stores. The new line of breads consists of four varieties – Lentil Grain Bread, Ancient Whole Wheat Bread, Flax and Spelt Bread, Sesame Sunflower Bread – all of which list sprouted grain as their primary ingredient.
One Degree Organics prides itself on using non-genetically modified ingredients supplied by farmers who use organic vegetable matter to cultivate seeds and grains. Founded and family run by the Smith and Houghton families, the company believes in full transparency and in using only sustainable, organic and vegan ingredients.
