Kandy Bar Kakes are a new offering this Halloween season from a partnership between Tastykake and Hershey’s. The Hershey’s Company, North America’s largest chocolate manufacturer, has come together with Tastykake, a brand of Philadelphia-based Tasty Baking Company, which is a subsidiary of Flower Foods, to combine cake and candy to make the perfect Halloween holiday.
The treat is part cake, part candy. The Kandy Bar Kakes come in three of Hershey’s most popular varieties: S’mores, prepared from Hershey’s Cocoa; peanut butter, prepared with Reese’s peanut butter; and peppermint, prepared with York Peppermint flavor.
The tasty and sweet treats have a recommended retail price of $1.69 for the single-serve size (2.1-ounce) and $3.99 for the multipack (5-count multipack) and will be available in most stores including convenience stores and supermarkets.
Tastykake is hyping up the Halloween spirit with spook-tacular dessert ideas that are simple and affordable and great for the family Halloween party. The innovative ideas include:
Coffin cakes made with Peppermint KandyBar Kakes and chocolate frosting. The chocolate frosting covered cakes should be shaped into a coffin and R.I.P spelled out at the top with white icing.
Spooky S’more Pops made from half a S’mores Kandy Bar Kake with a lollipop stick inserted into each of the halves. The cake should be covered in marshmallow fluff and rolled in graham crackers with part of the lollipop stick also covered. The cake should be placed in a freezer for about 15 minutes to allow the coating to harden. The other ideas include; CreepyCrawly Cake Bites and Devilish Dirt Cups.
Flower Foods is headquartered in Thomasville, Ga., and operates Flowers Bakeries a baker of fresh breads, snack cakes and rolls.
